    From the Principals Desk

      Dear Parents and Carers,

    Parent Forum Meeting tonight 5.30pm

Members of the CSO Flood Review Commission and CSO Leadership Team will be present at our Parent Forum Meeting scheduled for this evening at 5.30pm to answer any questions regarding the Commission's report.

This is our first official feedback from the commission since our Community meeting last October. They will outline the work of the commission and relevant aspects of the report concerning our school.

I am regularly being asked by families about the future of our school and our school site in the wake of the natural disaster and the ensuing insurance announcements. This is your chance to ask those types of questions to these visiting members of the commission and CSO leadership team.

I strongly encourage healthy attendance at this meeting as a sign of strength and pride in our school and community.

Athletics Carnival - What a great day!

We had a great day last Thursday at our school athletics carnival. The weather was perfect. The students participated with enthusiasm, persistence, resilience and confidence! I congratulate all for their efforts on the day, with special commendation to those who were successful in the championship competition. Thank you to our convenor, Miss Daly, the staff and family members who assisted on the day. A fun day - well done to all!

    Canteen - new Coordinator!

We welcome Nicky Mann, a long time supporter of our canteen, as our new Canteen Coordinator. We thank you for your generosity and enthusiasm to take on this role of service to our community.

Our ongoing gratitude also goes to Trish Kent as she continues to support the re-establishing and organisation of our canteen.

Have a great week! Hope to see you this evening at 5.30pm.

    Peace and blessings,

    Jason Clarke

    Principal

                                 Congratulations
It is with excitement that we congratulate our seven Year 4 Holy Communion candidates. Last weekend they completed their instruction with their Parish friends from Mt St Pat's Primary, attended their Retreat day, and then on Sunday they finally made their much anticipated First Eucharist.  It was a wonderful celebration, congratulations Bonnie, Michaella, Lalyta, Nate, Isla, Noah, and Annabel.

    STAGE 3

This term Stage 3 has been working on developing their comprehension skills, identifying strategies that help us to understand what we read. One of the mentor texts we used was "Mechanica" by Lance Balchin, a science fiction picture book set in the time of 'future earth". The students spent time exploring the text, looking for tier 2 and tier 3 words that helped us understand this very complex text. We then used these words to help us write about and create our own "Mechanica". Stage 3 did some amazing work and loved creating their own page for the book.
